Restorative Yoga 'Retreat@Home' online retreat April 2020
This deeply nurturing weekend is aimed at yoga teachers and practitioners who want to find stillness, enhance self-awareness and generate self-healing.
(Dear friends, because of the coronavirus situation, we'll be streaming this event to you live, online. Our experience with doing this so far is completely magical, and we know you will discover the remarkable power of restorative yoga, deeply and effectively in your own home! )
The original aim of Yoga is to create a still space inside from which you can explore who you are and why you’re here. According to Patanjali, Asana provides a ‘seat’ for the mind so that it can stop being restless.
Restorative yoga allows you to relax your body in a fully supported position, allowing your mind to slow down and become more introspective. You tend to use plenty of props and blankets and typically stay in one position for 10 minutes or longer.
The benefits of this nurturing practice can range from resolving body pain to reducing stress and anxiety to deep spiritual insights. Restorative yoga helps you slow down and become more mindful in general. You may develop greater resilience to stress and find more emotional stability. You may experience greater clarity of mind and more acceptance and detachment when things don’t quite work out the way you wanted them to.
The working ingredients in the Dru restorative practice are:
- fully supported and deeply relaxing posture
- specific breathing methods to soothe body and mind
- accessing the healing power of the vagus nerve
- compassion-focused techniques to resolve sabotaging patterns
In order for the weekend to be just right for you will have the opportunity to indicate what aspect of your health you would like to enhance.
This could be your best spring clean ever!
