Karma Yoga Retreat 15-18 April 2019
Karma Yoga is the Yoga of Action. The kind of action that is focused on giving back to the community and each other in the best possible way.
Karma Yoga Retreats are run as part of the Dru Volunteer Programme. They are a fantastic way to experience teamwork by working on different projects together, such as cooking, gardening, painting, cleaning, building, etc. Simultaneously, you practice and learn about yoga and meditation in its many aspects.
Karma Yoga, as stated in the Bhagavad Gita, is often understood and translated as the yoga of selfless service, or as the means of achieving freedom through action. It purifies the heart and mind by inviting you to act selflessly, without thought of gain or reward.
Possible Karma Yoga activities will be:-
- Light maintenance/building
- Deep cleaning
- Cooking
- Gardening
- Website / IT support

We will also make sure that your time here is as nourishing and as rewarding as possible. Therefore we include in your programme sessions like:-
- Yoga & relaxation
- Meditation
- Walk and yoga in nature
- Mantra chanting (kirtan)
- Satsang on Bhagavad Gita
And not to forget - your working environment will be in the midst of the stunning scenery of Snowdonia National Park, with beautiful walks and time in nature included!

2.30 pm Onwards, arrival and check-in
4pm Start Karma yoga
5.30pm Free time
6.30 pm - dinner
7.30 pm - Welcome session (including yoga & relaxation)
Tuesday & Wednesday
7.30am Yoga & relaxation
8.30 - 9.30am Breakfast
10am to 1.15 pm Karma yoga with morning break or possible Valley walk
1.15 pm - lunch
2.10pm Chanting and relaxation
2.20 to 6.30pm Karma yoga with afternoon break
5.30 to 6.30pm Free time
6.30 - 7.15pm Dinner
7.30-8.30pm Evening session
Thursday
7.30am Yoga & relaxation
8.30 - 9.30am Breakfast
10am to 1.15 pm Karma yoga with morning break
1.15 pm - lunch
3pm or earlier Depart
Please note the amendment to the start and finish times. However, should you need to arrive/leave early that's no problem. Hopefully the changed times will allow for more yoga and perhaps a longer walk.
